SS 12 Rampage

employment = WWD inspiration every day!

i now have a full time job in the fashion industry using my degree! amazing.
and it also means i get to read WWD all the time for free! no one else at the office reads it at all... crazies. so as a result, i now have so many ideas for things i wanna post it's overwhelming! :/
so we shall see what comes out....

so many pictures from the SS 12 shows, especially in paris and milan. my favorites and my NOT favorites...

Givenchy
i loved this outfit, and it got me excited to look at the collection... i love the monochrome layers and the soft structure of the jacket

the collection was seen, like many others, and underwater/sea inspired... here we make a totally complicated and obviously shocking dress. who wants to wear this? is it supposed to look like scales on there?? the collection also had outfits all in silver sequined. ew ew ew.

haider ackermann
this one was a ton of fabric draped and oversized everywhere, it seemed like a lot of repeat garments in different colors. and also lots of nipples under simple sheer tanks... hm.
holy crap i love this one and the colors and i would wear it right now holy crap.
looooove this look. not sure how the skirt works, kind of kimono looking jacket but i still like it.

viktor and rolf
i liked this show, it went back and forth between a silk scroll print design, and a blown up handsewn detail, looking a little hispanic. call me stupid, most of it is obnoxious but i really enjoyed this show.
tooootally cute. light and airy yet still edgy. and i love how these shoes kind of look like bedroom slippers.

obviously i'm a sucker for big sleeves! this is the most wearable version of the sewn detail i liked. :)

that's all for now!

runway vs celebrity!

i have a lot of these awesome picture pair ups of celebrities wearing stuff from the runways, some good and some not so good. it's so funny to see how differently the looks can turn out
blake lively puts more boobs into her preen.... and i love the shoes there

pucci print!!! guess we won't be seeing rachel zoe in anything but her own line now....

i had never heard of this designer before, and i'm not sure who this girl is either. but love the mixing she did!

why is heidi klum wearing this? it's kind of weird. her hair being like that, the same as the models too, makes her look kinda like a spanish can can dancer with her hair all slicked back like that. also, what was ms jenny packham thinking when she paired that with white tights?!?!?! EW ew ew

holy crap so colorful.... so cute. need to look into tibi more

to me kirsten bell wears it and pairs it much better than the runway here. don't know why she wore such a nice and mature dress to the kids choice awards though??

ohhh rick owens, so weird. i have no clue what his shoes are there but the girl on the right's are better! hers is also altered a bit differently, and i like it better there. less futuristic sci fy

whoever decided SJP had to be the #1 alexander mcqueen person for a while..... idk why. that head piece is ridiculousss and the armband is unnecessary, too bad i can't remember where this event was :(

sjp makes the dress look much more formal here. i like her hair with it, apparently she just loves her accessories! the print is really awesome.

remember the zipper trend?!? ahhhhaha. this dress looks a lot younger than the lady on the right is... i like the fullness of the skirt though!

i got all these from http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/ but i dont think the site is up anymore :( glad i got lots of pictures then! i love seeing these.

throw another one on!

here are some of my favorite jewelry pictures- cool photoshoots, pieces i would definitely wear, pieces i wouldn't necessarily!
looks like whale (maybe?) bones? hmmmm

this is cool. don't deny it

geography and fashion all in one!

i think it's just a gilded unnecessary bathing suit top, but i love the picture

multicolor

from a refinery29 story!

can we talk about how bad i WANT that finger tip thingy.... what the heck is it!!!!

sheeeer

i personally love the sheer trend, maybe mostly because i hate getting hot and sweating :/ ha. nothing like a little breeze!
sheer is also so great for layering, so you can get a softer volume. here are some of my favorite outfits i've seen, most more dramatic!
ooooh florence. the pleating looks so ladylike

taking the basic white blouse to a whole other level

kindof looks like a wedding dress? hey grecian inspiration

ha heyyyyyy sexy.

these marchesa pants look so cool! like her legs got all tangled up in a forest or something

another marches ss'11. i like the shapes, not so much the extreme butterfly reference

rachel mcadams wearing alexander mcqueen. very classy with the train
